So I am driving my 63 Impala Convertible. It loses power. I have my
whole family in the car as it is a nice day. I called the place that
usually does my work and they are closed (of course). I get on my treo
palm 800w and google mobilemechanic.
BINGO. Brian or Mike answer. I tell them my situation and how my car is a classic restored vehicle with a 409. They immediately jump into action. They were at the location where I was stranded in 40 minutes
(they told me 1 hour). Then they got me back up and running. They
proceeded to tell me a few things which made me upset with the other
guys who have worked on my car. 1st the carb's were backwards (2 of
them). 2nd the spark plugs were not firing correctly as they were Honda
plugs in a 63 Chevy. I was amazed. He did say that when you google it
they are the plugs which are ok to be used. AC Delco is still the best.
The car needs a tune up, and some other minor issues resolved, however
the vehicle is using 100% of its power, not about 30%. When I asked how
it was Mike stated "it is going to be a whole different car". The guy
noticed the oil filter adapter was loose and I lost 5 quarts. That is
obscene. The fact that the guys who gave it to me 4 days before did not
check that, did not have the carbs right, and had crappy plugs makes me
angry. Brian and Mike solved the issue and were less expensive that the
guys that did not complete the task properly. Thanks to Mike and

I had a headlight out, and I couldn't fix it myself because the battery
was in the way. I wasn't sure they would come out to do such a small
job- probably 20 minutes max. I called Brian, and he gave me an
appointment for the next morning. Later the same day, he called me back
to say that an appointment had opened up for an hour later if I wanted
it. I wasn't available then, but I really appreciated that he thought
to call me about it. This morning he called to confirm my appointment then showed up
right on time. He was friendly and in a good mood. He took care of my
car, no problem.
They have a $65 minimum, which seemed steep at first. My regular
mechanic could have done the job for 20 bucks, but my regular mechanic
is only open from 9am to 6pm. I am at work from 7am to 6:30pm. Unless
I'm leaving my car with them for a period of time, it's too much hassle to get back and forth. I was really paying for the convenience of them
